Community Updates

Thanks for all of those who have registered a need for water. As of late Tuesday afternoon, I have had no responses from Council to discuss the water issues. I have received on the website about 7 people describing their water needs. At this stage without support of our local community to assist with water or transport or the same local government, I can not take this matter further this week.
I am a Red Cross emergency volunteer, and I will be in Brisbane until Sunday assisting with their role in emergency relief and recovery. Upon my return I will endeavour to see if the water issue needs to be pursued in our district.
I apologise for giving people false hope that this registration of need might alleviate some of their water problems, but I have tried to coordinate support.

Please be aware this website is in development. Our resilience group are investigating whether this tool will work to capture needs of those affected by the drought, and if community members will standup and support these needs in full or in part with donations.
We cannot guarantee any supply of water, but capturing your water needs allows us to approach authorities such as Council and the SA Government about the needs of the community during our current severe rainfall deficiency.

If you are suffering from an acute water shortage as you are not on SA Water's mains supply, and you are finding it difficult to maintain water supplies at home for drinking, cooking and cleaning, you can register on this website. The Southern Clare Valley Resilience Group can then take your details and approach those in the community who can support such as private donations, SA Water, carting contractors or Council.
This submission for support does not guarantee a supply will be provided, but we will make our best endeavours to support your need.

Also there is a telephone tree plan as part of it. If you have an emergency you can have preplanned contacts to advise of your situation, and the contacts can advise others and so on.
